One Meter at a Time is given parcels of land from the social enterprise Cuipo, LLC.
As part of its social mission, Cuipo acquires parcels of rainforest to be set aside for preservation. The terms and conditions of these rainforest real estate purchases are structured in a variety of transactions including
- cash payments
- cash and debt
- options to purchase
- other terms and conditions that Cuipo determines are most beneficial.
Parcels of the rainforest are transferred to One Meter at a Time once
- a sufficient number of meters have been preserved in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Cuipo website
- there are sufficient funds to allow the foundation to preserve the rainforest parcels through education and preservation programs.
